Easyfairs steps up in the food sector – the CEO on the new initiative

Food Innovation Expo is the latest addition to Easyfairs’ trade show portfolio – an initiative that captures the pulse of the future of food. With more than 100 exhibitions in 16 countries and over one million visitors annually, Easyfairs is now bringing its proven exhibition model into the industry’s next chapter.

With its international reach and business-driven model, Easyfairs is now taking a clear position in the development of the food industry – with the ambition of creating a meeting place where the ideas of the future take shape.

“Food Innovation Expo is a new initiative for us, but it builds on Easyfairs’ international strength. Food supply chains are global, while interest in local production has increased significantly. This requires meeting places that can bring both perspectives together,” says Henrik Johansson, CEO of Easyfairs Nordic.

An industry in motion

The food industry is evolving faster than ever. Demands for sustainability, innovation, and resilient supply chains are increasing, while new technologies and players are driving change across the entire value chain. In this development, the meeting place becomes a central function – not just for visibility, but for real progress.

“I see three factors as crucial: putting the visitor first with content that attracts the industry’s top decision-makers and brightest minds; a clear focus on innovation and future challenges; and a first-class on-site experience where ideas are exchanged and business opportunities are created,” says Henrik.

The ambition is for Food Innovation Expo 2027 to be exactly that – a place where ideas don’t stop at inspiration but are turned into concrete collaborations and business opportunities.

“The industry is under significant pressure to change. All players need to adapt to new technologies, shifting trade patterns, and new consumer demands. That makes it essential to meet, exchange experiences, and stay one step ahead,” he says.

International experience – with a Nordic foundation

Easyfairs has long been developing meeting places for the food industry – both in the Nordic region and internationally. That experience is now being combined with a format where business value and measurable impact take center stage.

“We know what it takes to create relevant meeting places. For many years, Easyfairs has produced leading trade shows for different parts of the food sector – both in the Nordics and internationally. Together with our event format, clear ROI, and focus on innovation and business, this will make Food Innovation Expo a must-attend event,” says Henrik.

This initiative comes at a time when food-related issues have gained increasing importance – even beyond the industry itself. Topics such as climate, supply, trade, and technology are rapidly shaping developments.

“Food production has never been more relevant. A changing global security landscape, new trade patterns, lifestyle factors, technological advances, and climate challenges mean the industry is in focus like never before. There is a great need for a meeting place to discuss these issues, and it feels fantastic that we at Easyfairs can be part of that,” concludes Henrik Johansson.
